Royal
Prussian Automobile Corps Dagger. No Maker. This dagger
is from the collection of noted collector and author
Kurt Glemser, and a similar example by the Carl Eickhorn
firm is illustrated page 44 of A Guide to Military
Dress Daggers, Volume II by Mr. Glemser. Variation,
cast brass hilt fittings show surface wear/age patina
to the closed crown Imperial Naval style pommel and
to the large capstan style Naval crossguard and heavy,
pebbled quillon block without organizational insigne.
Pommel shows minor loss of detail to several panels
on the base of the crown. Ivory grip, without grip
wire, shows light age toning with several hairline
cracks and one chip on the upper edge. Plain plated,
center-ridge/double-fullered blade measuring 13 ¾"
in length grades Exc/Exc+ showing light surface wear/runner
marks, some minor gray shadowing, and several small
nicks to the cutting edges. Blade is without blade
buffer pad. Black leather scabbard shows light surface
wear/minor scuffing, but no creases or damage to the
reverse stitching. Plain brass scabbard fittings show
light wear/age with minor dings to the reverse of
the upper fitting and obverse/reverse lower fitting.
Upper scabbard fitting is complete with obverse frog
