Aluminum hilt fittings show little wear and near 100% of factory darkening remaining in the Eickhorn "heart-shaped" pommel and crossguard with Eickhorn pattern incised oak leaves on the upper surface of the quillons. Medium yellow, solid celluloid grip shows no cracks or chips and is complete with tight, bright springy wire wrap. Blade much cross graining with some minor surface graying and typical runner marks, but no nicks to cutting edges nor damage to the needle point. Blue leather buffer pad is complete. Steel scabbard with aluminum suspension bands and rings is totally dent free, with even factory gray darkening throughout. Scabbard throat is retained with two side-mounted, flathead screws.
