Transitional DLV/1st Model Luftwaffe Dagger w/Retailer's
Mark.No Maker. Early nickel-silver hilt fittings
show light surface wear/age patina to pommel and
crossguard with no damage to the background of the
pommel and crossguard gilded swastika inserts. Dark
blue leather grip shows light surface wear, but
no rips or tears and is complete with triple twisted
brass wire wrap. Plated blade measuring 12 ¼"
in length grades EX+ showing surface wear/runner
marks with a few specks of lifting near the obverse
crossguard, but no nicks to cutting edges and is
complete with blue leather buffer pad. Reverse upper
blade is retailer marked "L.GLADROW GREIFSWALD".
Greifswald is located approximately 160km North
of Berlin near the Baltic Sea. Blue leather scabbard
without metal base shows light surface wear/minor
swelling to leather, but no creases, rips or tears.
Dent-free, nickel-silver upper, center, and lower
scabbard fittings show light surface wear/age patina
and are complete with undamaged retaining staples.
The scabbard is personalized with the inscription
"O 5519" light scratched on the scabbard
throat. The nickel-silver chain hanger featuring
9 upper & 14 lower rings shows light wear/age
patina and is complete with early unmarked nickel-silver
clip. This pattern scabbard and hanger are pictured

Daggers of the German Luftwaffe by Thomas T. Wittmann.
