Imperial Era Cavalry Oil Painting. This oil on fiber board painting measuring 30 1/2 inches wide X 24 inches high (framed); 26 inches wide X 20 inches high (painting only) depicts a mounted Lancer/Uhlan trooper in an outdoor scene of rolling hills. The trooper,in a gray uniform with orange highlights, cavalry style helmet, cross-belt, and shoulder boards is resting his lance, with white and light blue lance pennon, across the pommel of his saddle. The painting is signed in lower right hand corner and dated 1915. Based upon the color of the lance pennon this painting most probably depicts a Bavarian Cavalry trooper. Painting grades Near MINT with no rips or tears with only one small area of wear to paint near upper frame edge. (T-200) $450.00
