"Reichsgesetzblatt" dated 2 September 1939.
This 4-page looseleaf style document is the Reich Statute paper which establishes the 1939 Iron Cross series, to include 1st, 2nd, and Knight's Cross Classes as well as 1st and 2nd Class spanges. Complete with actual size photographs and descriptions. Interesting period artifact. Some age, yellowing, and wear to newsprint-type document. Exc. (16876) $95.

Boxed Imperial/Reichswehr Uniform Card Set.
This boxed set of 36@ 2 ½” x 4” cards with colored illustrations covers the German Armed Forces from the Imperial era through the Reichswehr. The 36 cards are divided into 9 sets of four cards, and cover the troops of the Infantry, Artillery, Cavalry, Engineer, Signal, Jager, Train, Transportation, and Marine. Cards are complete with their original cardboard storage box. Beautiful, complete set of cards that provides detailed illustrations of personnel and equipment. Rare set with all cards! Army Death Notice Card. These two death notice cards were recently veteran estate obtained in the state of New York. Cards measure 2 5/8" x 4 9/16", show light age and are complete with photographs of soldiers in uniform. The following cards are available:

  • A. Notice for Gefreiter Mathhäus Uicher. Gefreiter Uicher was killed in Russia on 18 October 1941 at age 32. Reverse card features an illustration of Christ with crown of thorns. One small tear to upper left corner. Exc++ (22926A) $20.@ or $35/Pair

Army Death Notice Card.

  • Notice for Soldat Peter Schreiner. Soldat Schreiner was killed in the East on 13 February 1942 at age 32. Photograph shows Herr Schreiner in civilian clothes. Reverse card features an illustration of Christ with Virgin Mary. Faint age, but no tears. Near MINT (23549A) $25.

Third Reich Studio Portrait. Color studio portrait measuring 8 7/8" x 6 5/8" features an Army Private from 3rd Company of an Engineer Regiment in Field Service uniform without headgear. Portrait shows shoulder & head with superb detail to uniform. Portrait size with matte is 15 1/8" x 11 1/8". Superb color with minor age to matte. Near MINT (22860) $45.

Framed RAD Photograph. Black and white photograph measuring 5" X 7 1/8" (framed size) features group of approximately 215 RAD Officers and men is service uniform. The group is assigned to RAD Gruppe 253 a subordinate unit of RAD Arbeitsgau XXV (Hessen-Süd) with headquarters in Wiesbaden. Visible in the front row of RAD members are 13 M-1934 RAD Hewers. The photograph was probably made at a RAD school or RAD training function. EX++ (23563) $45. Sold

Official Third Reich Press Release Photograph. Black/white photograph measuring 5 3/16" x 7 3/16" was made during the 30 September 1937 Berlin motorcade visiting Italian State Minister Farinacci. Shown seated in an open touring car is Minister Farinacci in Fascist uniform in the right rear seat beside Reich Minister Propaganda Dr. Josef Goebels wearing NSDAP visor cap and leather overcoat. Seated in a forward jump seat is Dr. Otto Dietrich wearing a Government Official visor cap and overcoat with sleeve insignia. Photograph has one small crease to lower right corner. Imperial Studio Portrait Postcard. Black & white photograph measuring 4 ¼" x 5 ¾" (matted size 6 1/8" x 9 ¼") features a bust image of Kaiser Wilhelm II in Special Parade uniform of the Garde du Corps. Matte features facsimile signature of the Kaiser, as well as copyright date of 1894. Minor wear/age to matte. Exc+/Exc++ (21821) $45.

Imperial Studio Portrait Postcard.
This original postcard has not been filled out on the reverse. The front features an Imperial soldier in dress uniform seated with his visor hat on a small table beside him. Would make a nice display item with any Imperial edged weapon or other WWI artifacts. Exc. (12730) $10.

Original Factory Sword Photograph.
This 9-7/8" x 12" period black and white photograph from the files of the Puma firm shows a close-up shot of the hilts of an unattributed Puma dove head sword (Angolia, Swords of Germany 1900/1945, page 116) beside an Eickhorn Wrangel Nr. 1693 Field Marshal Series sword. Handwritten numbers/arrows designate certain points on the pommel, backstrap and crossguard as if some sort of comparison was being made (possible copyright/patent infringement?). Third Reich Armed Forces Calendar.
7" x 8 1/4" heavy paper calendar with hanging device is entitled, "La Wehrmacht 1944" with color photograph of Tiger Tank and crew on front cover. Back cover is marked, "Franz" with Forward in French text. Calendar is divided into weeks with all months and days of the work in French text with a color photograph of various German Armed Force personnel or equipment on each page. Edges of photographs are perforated and can be removed for use as postcards. Light surface wear and some flocking to pages but no major damage. Calendar is complete with all pages with beautiful color in all photographs. Exc+ (17821) $395.

Various Third Reich Period Postcards.
All Third Reich black and white period postcards are in MINT, unissued condition. These postcards were found in a stationary store in 1952 in Solingen. A knife maker had bought all of the bookcases and shelving from the stationary store, as it was going out of business. This box of postcards was found when they were removing the bookcases. The postcards were stored at that time and forgotten until this past year when they were rediscovered.

Original Third Reich Wehrpass w/Rare Protective Case. Wehrpass is complete with riveted photo of Jakob Schmalbach with personal entries indicating date of birth of 10 February 1905, with stamp of the Wehrbezirkskommando Mainz and dated 4.Mai 1940. Wehrpass shows only minor age with no rips, tears, or damage. Included with the Wehrpass is a rare, original protective case constructed of brown leatherette with double medal snap closure. Obverse protective case is stamped with a gilt open wing eagle above "Wehr Pass". Leatherette shows light surface wear with one minor tear to the upper right seam. Nice, original example with rare protective case, recently obtained in Germany. Near MINT (21648) $110.

Army Award Document Grouping.
These award documents were purchased from a private collection in Austria and were presented to the Gefreiter/Unteroffizier August Lemmerer over the period of December 1940 through August 1943. All documents grade excellent with light age and have been folded. Excellent research project. Documents included are: Kriegsweinacht 1940 Commemorative Certificate Signed by Company Commander. Award Document for War Merit Cross 2nd Class w/Swords dated 1 August 1941 and signed by LTC General and Commander of the 297th Infantry Division. Award Document for the Infantry Assault Badge in Silver dated 16 September 1942 and signed by LTC and Regimental Commander of Grenadier Regiment 524. Interim Award of the Winter Campaign in Russia Medal dated 18 December 1942 and signed by Captain and Company Commander, 2nd Company, Infantry Replacement Battalion 135. Award Document for the Winter Campaign in Russia 1941/1942 Medal dated 18 December 1942 and signed by LTC and Regimental Commander of Grenadier Regiment 524. Award Document for the Iron Cross 2nd Class dated 1 August 1943 and signed by General-Major and Division Commander of 297th Infantry Division. Exc. (18356) $695.

1937 German Road Map. This 1:100,000 scale, fold-out map in 5 colors is complete with original blue folder printed with a large black Reich eagle and "Reichskarte Einheitsblatt 137 (Pirmasens-Landau i. d. Pfalz-Baden-Baden)". Folder and map show only light wear with no rips or tears. Nice period item. Exc. (20452) $35.

Zeppelin-Marked Air Mail Envelope.
Used envelope is dated, "New York, Aug. 6, 1929" and further dated, "Friedrichschafen, 10.8.29" and carries $1.05 in U.S. postal air mail stamps. Upper left-hand corner bears the notation, "By airship Graf Zeppelin Lake Hurst to Friedrichschafen" and is mailed to a Munich address. Interesting Postal item! Exc. (17507) $495.

Mailing Envelope from Solingen Court System.
These 4 3/4" x 6 7/8", light green, paper envelopes were recently located in the files of the E. & F. Hörster firm. The envelopes are stamped "Amtsgericht Solingen" with the Reich eagle and swastika and were issued to mail court summons documents. Why they were in the Hörster files is unknown, but they are interesting, original items from the Third Reich for the Solingen factory item collector and/or the Third Reich stamp collector. POW Correspondence Cards.
Four different cards all stamped "Prisoner of War Post" from France; Fort Dix, New Jersey; Wells Somerset, Great Britain; and Lager 107, Great Britain. Cards were sent from POW to his wife in Dresden, Germany. Few available. Exc+ (15853) $20./Set
