Deluxe Senior Forestry Hirschfänger w/Eickhorn Squirrel Emblem. Carl Eickhorn stamped squirrel holding sword TM. An illustration of this pattern Hirschfänger, recently obtained in Germany, appears in the Eickhorn Kundendienst as Nr. 1059. Gold washed aluminum hilt fittings show light surface wear/minor speckling to the gilting on the hilt spine with 100% of the gilting remaining in the recesses of the oak leaf embellished knuckle-bow and crossguard with stag hoof quillon, and clamshell which features a raised charging stag. Obverse ferrule features a raised Eickhorn squirrel while the reverse features a running doe. Off-white simulated ivory grip plates show light surface wear/age toning with two hairline cracks on the reverse plate adjacent to the spine. Both obverse and reverse grip plates retain their three gilt acorns with oak leaves showing minor wear to highlights. Plated, double-etched blade measuring 32.3cm in length grades EX showing runner marks/surface wear and some gray speckling , but no lifting or damage to the cutting edge and is complete with green felt blade buffer pad. Etch pattern features scenes of Auerhahns, stag and doe, hounds, boar and hunter as shown in the Kundendienst. Spine is etched with the name of the retailer/distributor, "W. Michovius Cottbus". Black leather scabbard shows light surface wear/scuffing to leather but no creasing, rips, tears or damage to the reverse stitching. Dent-free, gold washed brass hilt fittings retain approximately 98% of the factory wash and are complete with both wire type, retaining staples. EX+ (24203) $1,695.
