Red Cross EM Hewer w/Frog. No maker. Nickel-plated
hilt fittings show minor age/speckling to the pommel
with wear to the reverse pommel where the upper
hanger has rubbed but no major loss of plating.
The crossguard shows minor speckling to the plating
with much factory lacquer remaining and no damage
to the well detailed Red Cross emblem on the obverse
langet. Black bakelite grip plates show minor surface
wear/age with one small chip to the lower reverse
plate, but no cracks, and no damage to the retaining
screws. Polished double sawtooth blade grades EX++
showing minor runner marks and faint gray shadowing
on lower obverse/reverse near blunt tip, but no
pitting or nicks to the cutting edge. Reverse ricasso
is stamped, "Ges.Geschützt" and is
complete with black leather buffer pad. Dent-free,
steel scabbard retains approximately 98% of the
original black enamel showing minor surface scratching
with no major loss of factory finish. Nickel-plated
scabbard fittings show light surface wear with one
small depression to the lower fitting, but no lifting
or damage to retaining screws. The unmrked black
leather, 4-rivet, triple-stitched construction frog
shows minor wear/age to leather, but no rips, tears,
or damage to stitching, and no loose rivets. EX+/EX++
