by Wayne H. Techet as Robert Klaas motif Nr. 1252.
Nickel-plated hilt fittings show only minor surface
wear with no crazing or loss of plating and with
original red felt plug in pommel slot. Black bakelite
grip plates are perfect with no cracks or chips.
Plated blade measuring 19.8cm in length grades EX++/Near
MINT showing only light runner marks with no graying,
lifting or nicks to cutting edge, and is complete
with original black/dark brown leather blade buffer
pad. Reverse blade features a 5" long, SCARCE
etched panel with an intricate design of floral
vines/leaves at the point and ricasso ends flanking
a distinctive, long, open-winged, centered eagle
above the inscription, "Zur Erinnerung an meine
Dienstzeit" in raised Gothic letters. Etched
panel retains 100% of the original factory background
frosting. Dent-free, steel scabbard retains approximately
95% of the original black enamel showing minor surface
wear/crazing primarily to the lower obverse shell
and lower ball. Black leather frog shows crazing
to the patent finish, but no damage to the stitching
