surface wear/age with much plating remaining on
the Turks knot pommel and crossguard with two dolphins
facing a sea shell pattern quillon block with a
reverse mounted blade spring release button. The
obverse quillon block features an enameled Hungarian
state crest. The off-white, solid celluloid grip
is perfect with no cracks or chips and is complete
with twisted wire wrap. The center ridge, double-etched
blade with ricasso and scabbard release spring grades
EX+ shows light surface wear and gray shadowing,
but no sharpening or nicks to the cutting edges
and is without a buffer pad. The obverse blade features
a raised floral motif flanking a motif of the Hungarian
state crest while the reverse blade features a floral
motif flanking a central motif of a fouled anchor.
The lower third of the obverse blade contains the
presentation "Santa Ferenc hajoragy urnak Emlekül
Pest 1938 marc. 14". The dent-free, silver-plated
scabbard features pebbled panels with two impressed
bay leaf pattern suspension bands showing surface
wear to highlights with much plating/dark age patina
remaining in the recesses of the scabbard shell.
A smooth panel below the upper scabbard fitting
features a raised fouled anchor flanked by the block
letters "M F T B", in repousse' relief
while the lower obverse fitting features a raised
facsimile of Neptune above a trident flanked with
a floral motif. EX+ (25708) $2,350.
