M-1943 Swiss Army Dagger.Elsener
Schwyz Victoria TM. Examples of this dagger are
shown on pages 201 - 213 of Kurt Glemser's A Guide
to Military Dress Daggers, Volume III. Nickel pommel
with countersunk pommel nut and Holbein style crossguard
show minor age speckling , but no wear or surface
damage. Medium brown, fruit-wood grip plates are
perfect with no cracks or chips and are retained
by three MINT nickel screws with countersunk taps.
Polished center-ridge, double-edged, stiletto-style
blade grades Near MINT showing only faint runner
marks, but no graying, speckling or nicks to cutting
edges. Obverse ricasso is stamped with the serial
number, "2 2 4 7 0 7". Dent-free bayonet-style
scabbard retains approximately 99% of the original
black enamel with minor rug marks to the obverse
shell and wear to the under edges of the angular
scabbard tip. Upper reverse of the scabbard is stamped
with "S" which denotes the city of Sissach
where the company that produced the scabbards, Basler
Eisnmobelfabrick A.G., is located. The dagger is
complete with a Near MINT, permanently-attached,
short black leather hanger with Near MINT nickel
clip. Scarce, quality Swiss Army dagger! Near MINT
