Description
Model 1933 Schutzstaffel Dienstdolch by SS 188/35 RZM – 1935. The blade shows minor runner marks on obverse/reverse side of dagger with a couple of small speckles on obverse. The acid etched “Meine Ehre Heißt Treue” motto and “SS 188/35 RZM” maker mark are beautifully shown. The blade cross grain looks excellent in the light, is nicely seated against the lower crossguard and the tip of the blade is intact. The blade rates an Exc++/NM with no nicks or chips in the cutting edge of the blade. The black repainted scabbard retains 99% of color with minor scratches to edging of scabbard and no dents. The upper scabbard fitting looks great, and the lower fitting has some minor dings/scratches. The ball has a few dings but still looks great. All four scabbard screws remain intact. The scabbard to crossguard fit is perfect. The crossguards are solid nickel-silver. The reverse of the lower crossguard is district stamped “I” (Berlin). The black wooden grip shows minor wear due to its age and the solid nickel-silver eagle is properly inserted. The SS roundel retains 100% of its enamel.
