Carl Eickhorn etched squirrel holding sword TM. This textbook Eickhorn example features natural finished aluminum hilt fittings showing light surface wear with factory darkening remaining in the recesses of the well detailed “heart-shaped” pommel, and eagle & swastika crossguard with style incised oak leaves on the upper surface of the quillons. Pommel swastikas have approximately 50% of gilding remaining. Medium orange, solid celluloid grip shows light surface wear with no cracks or chips and is complete with tight springy aluminum wire as used by Eickhorn. Plated blade grades EX++ showing minor surface wear/runner marks and a few small areas of gray shadowing, but no lifting or nicks to cutting edges. Blade is complete with leather blade buffer pad. Dent-free steel scabbard retains virtually 100% of the original factory gray finish and features the well-detailed Eickhorn pattern suspension bands, thicker variety scabbard throat as usually found on Eickhorn examples retained by two unturned, and headless screws. Portepee is tied to grip and has some fraying on the cord but grades EXC+.
