Description

Ernst Pack & Sohne M-B-H-Waffenfabrik large Siegfried Waffen TM.  An example of an Ernst Pack Army Officer’s Dagger with aluminum hilt fittings is pictured on page 51 of Exploring the Dress Daggers of the German Army by Thomas T. Wittman. The aluminum, oak leaf embellished pommel and crossguard with well-detailed eagle/swastika langet show light surface wear with some scratches/pecking to the top of the pommel and dark age patina to the silver-plated ferrule. The light yellow, solid celluloid grip shows light surface wear with a small nick to the raised edge of the uppermost obverse grip swirl and two tiny hairline cracks adjacent to the underside of the pommel. The recesses of the grip show light age, but no surface damage. Plated blade grades EX+ showing light runner marks and faint shadowing with a few tiny surface nicks to cutting edges but, no pitting or lifting, and is complete with dark brown/black leather buffer pad.  Dent-free, silver-plated scabbard shows dark age patina and surface crazing to edges of shell, but no lifting to plating on the pebbled shell or oak leaf pattern suspension bands. Scabbard throat is retained by two dome-head retaining screws.
