Description
Copper color Maltese Cross with swords features a central motif of a cross above the letter “L” (Ludwig) inside a raised border with the inscription, “MERENTI”. Reverse center motif features a Bavarian lion and the date “1866”. Cross without the white/black/blue ribbon. Maroon leatherette sliding top case is stamped on the exterior lid “Bay. M. V. Kr. 3. Kl. m. d. Kr”. (Bavarian Military Service Cross 3rd Class with Crown). Underside of the sliding top is maker marked, “Hofkunstanstalt und Ordenfabrik Jacob Leser Straubing”. Interior of the case is lined in light blue cardboard with a light blue silk pad on which the Cross rests. Nice Imperial Bavarian medal veteran acquired in the state of New York. Exc+/Exc++
