Czechoslovak Air Force Dagger w/Rare Variation Grip


WLASZOVITS, STOS over “27” TM. An example of this pattern dagger can be found on page 79 of World of Dress Daggers 1900-1945 by Robert J. Berger. Gilt finished hilt fittings show light surface wear/age patina to square shaped pommel and to the upturned crossguard with obverse and reverse center crossguard having a raised lion of Bohemia. Variation celluloid simulated burled walnut grip plates show only light surface wear with no cracks or chips. Polished blade grades VG+/excellent showing age/wear with one spot of lifting on obverse and reverse tip. Obverse ricasso is stamped with “097”. Dent-free steel scabbard is covered in brown leather which shows only light wear with no rips, tears, or shrinkage. Upper, center, and lower gilt fittings show light age patina with one depression to the reverse of the center fitting as well as to the edge of the lower fitting. Exc/Exc+ (22369)
