Description
Carl Eickhorn maker marked. It has the normal massive stag grip featuring light and dark throughout, inset with the DJV emblem. It has the silver clam shell, hoof crossguard, oak leaf ferrrules, and acorn pommel cap. The blade has the dark etched hunting scenes on both sides, remains tight in the fittings, perfectly straight, not sharpened, tip is intact, and no nicks to the cutting edge. There is a little bit of surface oxidation at the tip, which barely detracts from the overall beauty of the rest of this blade. The scabbard to this Hirschfanger is in EXC++/Near Mint condition. The Moroccan leather is in good shape and the silver fittings show some dark gray age patina. The staples are securely connecting the fittings to the scabbard. The brown leather frog in in EXC++ condition, stitching is perfect and has the eagle clutching the swastika on the bottom section.
