Description
Roman helmet and sword (P.D. Lüneschloss) stamped TM. Gilded brass hilt fittings show light surface wear/age patina to the deluxe incised oak leaf motif on hilt/spine, knuckle-bow, crossguard and fluted clamshell. Dark brown stag horn grip plates are perfect with no cracks or chips, and are complete with three gilded brass acorns with oak leaves on both obverse and reverse grip plates. The acorns show wear/age to the gilding but, no damage or loosening to the attaching pins. Polished, double-etched blade grades EX+ showing minor surface wear/runner marks with some light graying/speckling on the obverse/reverse ricassos, and is complete with green felt buffer pad. Obverse blade features a floral motif flanking a forest scene of hound stalking two foxes while the reverse blade features a floral motif flanking a forest scene of stag and does. Both etched panels show minor wear/age speckling to the light gray background frosting and to the laurel leaf motif on the blade spine. Black leather scabbard shows minor surface wear and a few small surface nicks, but no rips, tears, creases or damage to the reverse stitching. The deluxe gilded brass upper and lower scabbard fittings show minor surface wear to factory gilding and three faint “pings” to the reverse lower fitting. Both fittings feature an incised oak leaf motif on the obverse and reverse, are complete with both retaining staples with an acorn motif frog lug on the upper fitting. The original dark brown leather, V-notch frog with belt loop grades EX+ showing minor wear/age but, no rips or tears. Nice Deluxe Luneschloss Subordinate Forestry Hirschfänger. EX+/EX++ (26738)
