Description
SMF, SOLINGEN with seated king holding sword TM. Uncleaned nickel-silver hilt fittings show surface wear/age patina to pommel, upper and lower ferrules and crossguard with loss of plating to the background of the pommel and crossguard swastikas. Dark blue leather grip shows light wear to the leather with a few small nicks to leather, and is complete with tight, triple-twisted, silver wire wrap. Plated blade grades EX+ showing light surface wear/runner marks with minor gray shadowing and one tiny nick to the left cutting edge but, no lifting or pitting, and is complete with blue leather blade buffer pad. The blade is not Waffen amt stamped. Blue leather scabbard has a few nicks to the leather. There are two small depressions – one on the upper and one on the lower scabbard fittings, fittings are uncleaned, nickel-silver upper fitting is personalized with “E.L.” initials in reverse side of fitting. Center, and lower scabbard fittings show age patina matching the hilt fittings and are complete with all five flush-mounted retaining screws present. The nickel-silver chain hanger featuring 9 upper and 14 lower rings with early nickel-silver clip shows light age patina with no damage to the rings or connectors and is complete with an early, unmarked nickel-silver upper clip.
