Description
Wüstof Solingen, trident within double oval TM. Nickel-silver hilt fittings show light surface wear/age patina with reverse lower crossguard SA Group stamped, “Ho” (Hochland). Edge of pommel nut has a few faint “burrs” from disassembly with pliers, but no major damage. Obverse crossguard is personalized with the inscription, “In treuer Kampfverbundenheit” (With faithful solidarity in the struggle) while the reverse is inscribed with the name, “Max H Ferer”. Light, tan/brown, fine-grained wooden grip, possibly pear or fruit wood, with early production quality grip-to-crossguard fit, shows light surface wear with a small hairline crack on the lower obverse and upper reverse adjacent to the crossguards. Grip is complete with silver grip eagle and SA insert properly inset. Early quality, mirror polished blade grades EX+, showing surface wear/runner marks and a few minor gray spots where the runners have rested, but no pitting or nicks to cutting edges. The deeply etched motto retains 100% of the medium gray background frosting. Dent-free scabbard shows uniform surface wear to the brown anodized finish and factory lacquer, but no major loss of finish. Nckel-silver scabbard fittings show surface wear/age patina with a two minor depressions to the lower fitting and a depression to the underside of lower ball. The scabbard screws appear to be unturned. The obverse upper fitting is personalized with the inscription “SA Standarte 30 Kulmbach”. Kulmbach is located approximately 130km NE of Nürnberg. The RARE brown leather vertical hanger grades EX++ showing light wear/age, but no rips or tears to leather, and is complete with nickel-plated buckle buckle and RZM 1 marked upper clip.
