Description
E. KNECHT & Co, SOLINGEN with stylized double dear head TM. Nickel-silver hilt fittings show light surface wear/age patina with lower reverse crossguard SA Group marked “Nrh” (Niederrhein). Dark, reddish-brown, wooden grip shows light wear but, no nicks or chips and with silver grip eagle and SA insert properly inset. The polished blade grades EX- and shows much wear, runner marks, and sharpening. The deeply etched pebbled motto shows light wear to the medium gray background and post war added darkening. The steel scabbard retains approximately 85% of the brown anodization showing many paint chips and may have been repainted at one time. The nickel-silver scabbard fittings show minor surface wear/age with the lower obverse fitting showing minor pitting along with the bottom portion of the ball. All four retaining screws are present and undamaged. EX- (27324)
