Description
Carl Eickhorn maker mark on reverse of blade which is partially rubbed off due to age and wear. The blade shows minor runner marks on obverse/reverse side of dagger with a couple of small speckles on obverse. The acid etched “Meine Ehre Heißt Treue” motto is beautifully shown. The blade cross grain looks excellent in the light, is nicely seated against the lower crossguard and the tip of the blade is intact. The blade rates an Exc++ with no nicks or chips in the cutting edge of the blade. The black scabbard retains 100% of color with minor wear due to age but no dents. The upper and lower scabbard fittings have some minor dings/scratches. The ball has a few dings but still looks great. All four scabbard screws remain intact. The scabbard to crossguard fit is perfect. The black wooden grip shows minor wear due to its age and the solid nickel-silver eagle is properly inserted. The SS roundel retains 75% of its enamel.
