Description
This knot was produced as a factory sample by the firm of Staudinger & Winter of Treuchtlingen (Bayern) for submission to the Navy Clothing Department in Kiel for production approval. The knot is complete with cardboard tag marked, “Marine – Säbelportepee Amtliches Muster” (Navy – Sword Portepee Official Sample), and dated “22.5.36.” The knot is constructed of silver bullion cord, slide/stem, and large acorn.
