Description
E. & F. Hörster TM. This is a totally untouched veteran’s family piece that was a “walk-in” to JRB&M. And, yes, the Hörster firm did produce this model Third Reich dagger during the period. This fact can be documented in the 1930’s exchange of parts among the Solingen manufacturers and also by the large number of G.O. parts found at the Hörster factory by LTC Johnson on one of his early trips to Solingen. The dagger was brought back to the U.S. during 1945 by U.S. Army enlistee, Julius DeMaight, who served in the Corps of Engineers in Africa, Sicily and Italy. The untouched condition of this rare dagger is exactly what experienced German dagger collectors like to find. Very nice “toned” perfectly fitting grip plates. Scabbard is completely dent free. Blade will grade stone MINT. Overall condition is EX++/Near MINT. Nice dagger!
