Stamped H H S monogram pierced by a sword on obverse ricasso and E.& F. Hörster, Solingen two-line TM. Nickel-plated hilt fittings show excellent detail to the eagle head pommel and oak leaf embellished crossguard with no loss of plating to pommel or crossguard. The reverse crossguard is stamped “S D VII 183″ (Schutzpolizei/Municipal Police Property, administrative district Düsseldorf, weapon number 183). Medium brown stag horn grip plates are perfect with no cracks or chips, and with Third Reich Police grip emblem properly pinned to the obverse plate. Grip plates show evidence of being cut down during refurbishing as portions of the original lower rivet holes remain on both the obverse and reverse plates filled with brown paste. Plated blade grades EX++ with very minor runner marks/surface wear. Spine of blade is stamped with a ” * over K” and complete with brown leather buffer pad. Black leather scabbard shows light surface wear/fading but, no rips or tears, and no damage to the reverse stitching. Nickel-plated scabbard fittings show light surface wear with a faint depression to the obverse lower fitting, but no damage to the lower ball, and are complete with both retaining staples. Reverse upper scabbard fitting is stamped “S D V VII 183”, matching the crossguard marking. Black leather, double-stitched, four-rivet frog grades EX+ showing minor wear/age but, no rips or tears and no damage to stitching. The reverse upper frog is maker marked, “A.
