Description
Eickhorn, Solingen squirrel within double oval TM. Early nickel-silver pommel nut and crossguards show minor surface wear/age patina, with the reverse lower crossguard distribution center marked “I”. The early ebony-colored grip shows light surface wear but much chipping to the edges of the crossguards. Polished blade grades EX++ with runner marks but no nicks to cutting edges. The deeply etched SS motto retains approximately 98% of its medium gray background frosting. The reverse blade shows evidence of professional grinding with faint grinding to the lower portion of the trademark, indicating that the dagger originally had a Röhm inscription. The steel scabbard shell shows much oxidation and surface wear. Nickel-silver scabbard fittings show surface wear/age patina matching the hilt fittings, with the lower fitting showing multiple dents to the lower ball.
