Description

No maker. An example of the full size version of this dagger can be found on page 30 of A Guide to Military Dress Daggers, Volume I by Kurt Glemser. Overall length is 7-5/8″. The quality of the piece is superior to its full-size counterpart. Beautiful grip features the Polish eagle attached to the obverse portion. Fittings appear to be coin silver. Leather- wrapped scabbard is beautiful. Blade is deeply engraved with the motto, “Honor I Ojcyzna” (translates to “Honor and Fatherland”). Blade condition is MINT. Scabbard is also MINT. Attached to the scabbard rings are two beautiful delicate leather straps with silver fittings similar to those seen on page 31 of Mr. Glemser’s book, the only exception being that the buckles, rather than being rectangular, are oval and heavily silvered (in fact, probably all coin silver). Beautiful combination, extremely RARE! EX++/Near MINT (12118)
