AUGUST KRAFT, WEINGARTEN and STERNDRUCKFREI DEUTSCHESREICHPATENT marked to sweat shield. Paper tag inserted to sweat shield sleeve with the family name of SOEST L. Lieutenant Soest appears in the 1939 rank list assigned to PANZERABTEILUNG (Panzer Battalion/detachment) 65 garrisoned in Iserlohn. The 65th Tank Battalion initially fought in Poland as an independent tank battalion and was amalgamated into the 11th Panzer Regiment in 1942. The 11th Panzer Regiment was, perhaps one of the most historic units of the Panzer Corps as Franz Bake (“100” Tank Battle Badge and “Swords”) along with Oppeln Bronakowski (“Swords”)commanded in this Regiment. Beautiful doe skin material with four surface moth nips but, no holes or excessive wear. Aluminum eagle, wreath and cockade are perfect showing only light age. Pink piping is bright and correctly applied showing NO moth nips or holes. Visor is complete with MINT chin chord and is attached to peppled buttons. Medium green lining, sweat shield, sweatband and interior visor shows almost no wear/age and no damage. Inside rear sweatband has size stamp “55”. Near MINT
