Knight’s helmet (WK&C) TM. An example of this pattern dagger with flat brass horn crossguard insignia is pictured on page 240, right, of Collecting the Edged Weapons of Imperial Germany. Silver-plated hilt fittings show light surface wear/age patina to the open crown Imperial Navy style pommel and to the large capstan style Navy crossguard and heavy quillon block, with flat brass horn insignia on center quillon. Ivory grip shows light surface wear and age striations with one hairline crack on left edge, but no chips or damage. Grip is complete with fine twisted silver wire wrap. Plated double-etched diamond cross-section blade measuring 11 ¾” in length grades excellent/excellent+, showing light surface wear/runner marks and some gray speckling along edges, but no nicks or damage. Blade is complete with original red felt blade buffer pad. Dark brown leather scabbard with double incised lines on both obverse and reverse shows only light surface wear with no rips, tears, or creases, nor damage to the reverse stitching. Silver-plated scabbard fittings show light surface wear/age patina with no dents or damage. Upper scabbard fitting is complete with obverse frog stud, as well as a hanger ring on the left side of the upper scabbard fitting.
