Description
An early Model 1934 RAD EM Subordinate Hewer by Carl Julius Krebs, Solingen. The blade has some spotting and runner marks, but the motto appears to be crisp, and acid etched “Arbeit adelt”. The reverse is maker marked “RADJ”, “Ges. Gesch.”, and “Carl Julius Krebs Solingen”. The blade fits perfectly in the scabbard, has no nicks or chips to the cutting edge, and the tip remains pointed. The steel based, black enamel scabbard retains 80% of its paint coverage, has some scratches, but remains completely dent-free. The patinaed nickel-silver plated and black burnished fittings provide wonderful detail, throughout the RAD logos and decorative interweaving top patterns. All screws are present. The scabbard and crossguard fit perfectly and close with a snap. The steel based, nickel-silver plated hilt is also in beautiful condition, matching the scabbard patina perfectly. The stag horn grip plates have no cracks or chips, and they remain tightly secured by two steel screws.
