In both Ralph Siegert’s SA Dagger Book and the “McSarr” rarity scale, this maker is ranked as a “7” out of “10” reflecting production numbers of approximately 1000. Nickel-silver hilt fittings show light wear with obverse lower crossguard marked “W” and an indiscernible second letter. Red – brown, fine-grained wooden grip shows light surface wear but, no chips or cracks and with silver grip eagle and SA insert properly inset. Mirror polished blade grades EX+ showing surface wear/runner marks and NO speckling with no nicks or cuts to the cutting edge. Deeply etched motto retains 90% of the light gray background frosting. Dent-free, steel scabbard shell shows minor wear and retains approximately 98% of the black enamel with spidering to reverse lower portion. Nickel-silver scabbard fittings show surface wear and minor depression to lower obverse fitting. Dagger comes complete with vertical hanger showing wear to leather with belt clip showing lifting and rust to plated finish. Hanger comes with belt loop which shows much wear to leather.
