RARE belt was recently purchased in Germany from the estate of Zeugoffizier Joseph Sachenbacher, Artillerie-Werkstätten München. Research in the 1914 ranklist of the Royal Bavarian Army reveals Zeugoffizier Sachenbacher was serving as a Zeuglleutnant with date of rank of 03 March 1911. The belt, measuring 43mm in width feature silver bullion brocade facing with two, 5mm wide, alternating, Bavarian blue silk thread stripes, is complete with both brocade keepers, and navy blue, wool backing. Belt is complete with round 45mm diameter gilt buckle showing only light age to the highlights with 100% of the honey gold finish remaining in the recesses of the oak leaf border and center Royal Bavarian Crown.
