CARL EICKHORN, SOLINGEN in double oval TM. Nickel-silver hilt fittings show very light surface wear/yellow age patina with lower crossguard group marked; “Ns” for Nordsee. Medium brown, fine-grained wooden grip shows light surface with one crack to upper obverse grip. Early silver grip eagle shows light surface wear and SA insert properly inset. Early quality mirror polished blade grades EX++ showing light surface wear/runner marks with no pitting or nicks to cutting edge. Deeply etched SA motto retains 100% of the dark grey background with Rohm dedication professionally removed. Eickhorn “double oval” TM is correctly placed on lower part of the ricasso, but does show a minor portion of the upper “double oval” removed along with the dedication. Steel scabbard shows light surface wear/spidering throughout retaining approximately 99% of the brown anodized finish and 80% of factory lacquer to shell. Dent-free, nickel-silver fittings show light surface wear/yellow age patina matching the hilt fittings with no damage to the fittings or to the lower ball. EX++
