ORIGINAL EICKHORN, SOLINGEN with squirrel holdng sword TM and distributor mark to spine “W. MICHOVIUS COTTBUS”. Gilded brass hilt fittings show surface wear with virtually 85% of the factory gilding remaining on the hilt/spine, knuckle-bow/crossguard, deer hoof quillon and to the clamshell. Clamshell shows a small area where the plating is missing exposing the base metal Beautifully toned IVORY grip plates grade EX++ showing no excessive wear or damage. Grip is complete with all six gilt acorn grip emblems showing light wear to high portions. Plated double-etched blade grades EX+ showing light runner marks and minor speckiling. Blade features scenes of Auerhahns, stag and doe, hunting dogs, boar and hunter in forest setting. Dark Brown/black leather scabbard shows only faint surface wear with no rips, tears or damage to reverse stitching. Upper and lower brass fittings show only light surface wear with 98% of gilding remaining and both retaining staples present. Hirschfanger is complete with original green frog attached to scabbard and grades EX+. Included is the original leather belt and crosstrap which grade EX+/EX++ showing only light wear and light rust to fittings.
