Description
P.D. Luneschloss, Solingen, Roman helmet and sword within double-oval TM. This uncleaned example features dark, gun-metal gray patina to the superbly detailed oak-leaf embellished pommel and “generic” crossguard pictured on page 99 of Exploring the Dress Daggers of the German Army by Thomas T. Wittmann. Medium/dark orange, solid celluloid, “glass-like/amber” grip shows virtually no wear with no chips or cracks. Polished blade grades EX+ showing surface wear/runner marks and gray shadowing, but no nicks to the cutting edges and is complete with brown leather blade buffer pad. Dent-free, silver-plated, “generic” scabbard shows dark age patina matching the hilt fittings with superb detail to the pebbled shell and oak leaf pattern suspension bands. Scabbard is complete with a single, flush-mounted retaining screw as pictured on page 98 of the above reference. Nice Luneschloss example w/RARE glass-like/amber grip. EX+/EX++ (26187)
