WILH KOBER, SUHL with etched Greek Mythical Centaur in double oval TM. This maker is rated as a “3” on the rarity scale in both Ralph Siegert’s SA book and the “McSarr” scale. Nickel-silver hilt fittings show very light surface wear/age patina with reverse lower crossguard marked “Th” for Thuringen. Light brown, fine-grained wooden grip shows almost no surface wear with silver grip eagle and SA insert properly inset. Mirror polished blade grades EX+ showing surface wear/runner marks and light speckiling but, no nicks or cuts to the cutting edge. Deeply etched motto retains 89% of the artificial graying to background. Dent-free, steel scabbard retains approximately 85% of the brown anodization with rust surface speckling and one small area of missing anodization along the edge. Nickel-silver scabbard fittings show light surface wear/age to the hilt fittings and the ball has one minor depression. EX+.
