F.von Brosy-Steinberg × Solingen × arched around a circle with a crossed anchor and key in the center TM.  On page 266 of NS Dagger Maker Trademarks – Fisher Quick Reference by R. & R. Fisher the author states that the Hugo Berns firm is rated as a RARE maker of SA Daggers with an estimated 1,000 produced.  As stated on page 85 of The Sword and Knife Makers of Germany 1850-2000 by the late Anthony Carter, “During the Third Reich some early SA daggers were completed, the blades bearing a round trade trademark with the anchor and key in the center surrounded by the firm’s name and location.” Nickel-silver hilt fittings show light surface wear/age patina with lower reverse crossguard SA Group marked “Ho” (Hochland). Group Hochland was located in Bavaria with the group headquarters in München. Dark, reddish-brown, fine-grained wooden grip with early production quality grip-to-crossguard fit shows light wear/age and a depression/scratch to the center reverse right edge, but no cracks or chips and with silver grip eagle and SA insert properly inset. The polished glade grades VG+/EX showing surface wear/runner marks and dark gray spotting on obverse/reverse flats where runners have rested, but no nicks to cutting edges or damage to the blade tip. The deeply etched motto retains 100% of the medium gray background frosting. The dent-free steel scabbard retains approximately 95% of the dark brown enamel showing small specks of missing paint to the obverse/reverse shell with minor crazing, but no major loss of the factory finish. The uncleaned, dent-free nickel-silver scabbard fittings show surface wear/age patina matching the hilt fittings and all four undamaged retaining screws present. a few tiny “pings” to the lower fitting and a faint depression to the side of the lower ball, but no major damage. The brown leather hanger grades EX showing wear/age to the leather and is complete with uncleaned nickel-silver buckle and early unmarked clip.
