Description
No maker mark. Hilt fittings show light wear with most of the artificial darkening remaining to the recesses of the well-detailed, oak leaf-embellished pommel and crossguard. Medium yellow, solid celluloid grip with spongey wire wrap grip showing minor wear/age, but no cracks or chips. Plated blade grades EX++ showing surface wear/runner marks and uniform gray shadowing, but no pitting or nicks to the cutting edges, and is complete with brown leather buffer pad. Dent-free scabbard shows light surface wear to blued finish with some surface oxidation to the edges with much factory bluing remaining in the recesses of the pebbled panels and oak leaf embellished suspension bands. The scabbard throat is retained by one, side-mounted retaining screw. A nice starter piece for the budding collector.
