RZM M7/66 (Eickhorn, Solingen) etched with 1942 date. Gilded hilt fittings show some surface wear and age patina with no speckling/lifting to plating of upper and lower crossguards except to upper fitting screw. Furniture quality, rich brown grip shows almost no age with no depressions, no cracks, and no chips. Grip eagle and SA insert are properly inset. Blade grades near EX++ showing almost no wear/runner marks, with light speckling throughout but no nicks or cuts to the cutting edge with 99% of the cross-graining present. Deeply etched motto retains some of its background darkening. Dent-free scabbard retains approximately 99% of the period black enamel and shows some very light surface wear. Gilded scabbard fittings show light age patina no dents or scratches with no damage to ball. Scabbard is complete with unmarked gilded chain featuring four links to the top length and five links to the bottom length attached to an acorn-adorned clip. A rare and exciting piece in truly excellent condition!
