Description

A collection of three (3) magazines found in LTC (Dec.) Thomas M. Johnson’s belongings during the move to Tennessee.  “Swords of WWII Germany” is Volume 1, Number 2 from Winter 1980-81.  This would be the beginning of Tom’s publishing career.  This issue featuring the edged weapons of German fighting forces includes beautifully illustrated photographs, artwork, historical facts, descriptions, sizes, types and materials of the Luftwaffe, the SS Elite Guard, the SA Storm Troops, the Army and Navy, the Police and Fire Departments, the Customs Service, Diplomats and Career Officials, the Judicial Services and the Mining Service.  It is in exceptional condition with minor wear to the front and back cover.  Thrown in is a copy of Salzburg Weekly News for Austria from January 26, 1947, written mostly in German.  For its age, it is also in exceptional condition with minor tears to the front and back cover.  Also included is a copy of Der Spiegel Number 13 from March 21, 2015.  Again written in German, the cover is barely together but is entitled “How Europeans view the Germans”, and some pages are questionably earmarked.
