Description
F. W. Backhaus Solingen Gesftzl. Geschutzt TM. The blade has some dark speckling/graying throughout and the dark acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” motto. It appears to be slightly sharpened but no nicks or chips to the cutting edge. The hilt has some plate lifting and the black checkered grip plates are tightly secured with rivets but there is some damage to the diamond insert, as well as, the area on the grip plates around the insert and the upper right corner near the upper hilt fitting. The steel based, black painted enamel scabbard retains approximately 50% of its original paint and it is dent free. The scabbard leather shows age/wear but the snap works properly.
