Green Knot: complete w/cardboard tag from the German Army Clothing Inspection Office in Munich and is constructed of green woven wool strap with red/green/red slide, stem, crown, with green acorn and acorn insert. Heavy cardboard tag is marked in printed letters as a Test Sample of the Knot for the 14th Company of an Infantry Regiment. Tag is dated, “1.4.38” with hand signed signature of an Oberleutnant from the München, Heeresbekleidungsamt (the Munich Army Clothing Office). Reverse of the tag is complete with large red wax stamp marked, “Army Clothing Office, Munich” surrounding an open wing eagle. Original string tie on strap. MINT.
Gray Knot: complete with carboard tag from German Army Clothing Inspection Office in Berlin and is constructed of gray woven wool strap with yellow/red/yellow slide, stem, crown, with gray acorn and acorn insert. Heavy carboard tag is hand written and with signature in German and is dated “13.5.1931”. The reverse of the tag is also marked in printed letters “Die Proben dienen zur Erganzung u. Erlaterung der Beschreihung, letztere gibt bei Verschiedenheiten den Ausschlag (The samples serve to supplement and explain the description, the latter is decisive in the event of differences)” and is complete with a large red wax stamp marked, “Army Cloth Office, Berlin” surrounding an eagle with wings pointing down.
