Description
Rich. AB Herder Solingen inscribed inside the oval trademark. Exceptionally clean blade is engraved “Meine Ehre heißt Treue” on obverse side of blade. Runner marks are the only indication of wear on that side of the blade. There are no nicks to cutting edge and tip remains intact. On the reverse side of the blade the Herder logo is very clear and intact. The grind marks on the reverse side give clear evidence that this had the Rohm inscription as there are enough markings left of the original inscription to assure any collector of its authenticity. The nickel-plated fittings are in EXC++ condition with the reverse lower crossguard stamped with the district mark Roman numeral I. Black wooden grip has no cracks on either side and while there are a few very light indentations there are no chips. The nickel-silver eagle insignia and SS roundel are properly inset. The black anodized scabbard has no scratches, retaining 99+% of color and no dents. The scabbard upper and lower fittings show very light age/wear with no indentions and the tip of the ball is perfect. All four scabbard screws are intact.
