Description
E.PACK & SOHNE, SOLINGEN with Wagnerian figure Siegfried wielding hammer etched TM. Nickel-plated hilt fittings show light age with some speckling/plate lifting to the hilt and the quillon. Pommel slot is complete with green felt plug and the black bakelite grip plates are perfect with no cracks or chips and come complete with both grip rivets. Plated blade is EX+ showing very minor runner marks, very light speckling/lifting mostly on the reverse side of blade. Obverse blade features the two-line remembrance of service inscription in raised Gothic letters, “Zur Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit”. To the right of the inscription is an exceptionally rendered soldier on patrol with rifle. The panel retains 99% of the background frosting, and blade is complete with brown leather buffer pad. Steel scabbard retains approximately 99.9% of the original black enamel. Bayonet is complete with black unmarked frog and Army NCO portepee. The frog shows age and wear but all the stitching is intact. The portepee grade EX++.
