No maker. This miniature Imperial Naval dagger measuring 6 ¾” in length is complete with twisted silver wire chain, watch fob style hanger, and is similar to the miniature dagger worn by Mr. Thomas Wittmann at the annual MAX Shows. Gilded brass hilt fittings feature a closed crown style pommel, ridged brass grip and crossguard with fouled anchor motif and large Imperial pattern quillons. The fittings show light surface wear to highlights with much frosting remaining in the recesses in the recesses of the pommel and crossguard. Plated, center-ridge blade measuring 5″ in length grades RX++/Near MINT faint surface wear, but no lifting, pitting or nicks to edges. Gilded lightning bolt scabbard with Guilloche-type scabbard bands shows light surface wear with some loss of lacquer and gilting primarily to the center obverse shell. The original miniature bullion portepee shows dark age patina and features a solid metal style portepee stem and acorn. Nice miniature dagger with watch fob style hanger. EX++.
