Unmarked. Nickel-silver hilt fittings show minimal age and surface wear to the pommel nut and upper and lower crossguards which feature cast, raised oak leaves in the correct style. The black, fine-grained grip fits perfectly with the crossguards and shows no wear, chips, or cracks. Silver grip eagle and SS insert are properly inset with no damage to the eagle or to the enamel on the SS insert. Damascus, maiden hair pattern blade grades EX++ with some wear to blade tip. Black leather-covered scabbard shows almost no wear to the lower obverse/reverse shell, but with some lifting to lower edges. Dent-free upper and lower scabbard fittings but show some wear and loss of plating. Dagger is complete with unmarked hanger showing similar plating loss to fittings. Miniature dagger fits snuggly into a velour and silk-lined case. Accompanied by original photos of the U.S. veteran who brought it home, along with some newspaper clippings and various ephemera it was stored with.
