Brass hilt fittings show almost no wear/age to factory gold wash on the raised oakleaf embellished backstrap/pommel/knuckle bow with virtually no wear to the crossguard with eagle holding laurel leaves langet. Black celluloid grip is perfect with no cracks, chips or surface damage, and is complete with triple-wire wrap. Plated blade grades 9near MINT showing light runner marks and no pitting or nicks to cutting edge and is complete with a brown leather buffer pad. Obverse and reverse blade features beautiful floral motifs and “spoils of war” design with helmets, swords and cannon. Scabbard retains approximately 80% of the original black enamel showing surface wear/scratches and spots exposing portions of bare metal. Sword is complete with correctly tied Officer’s sword portepee which grades EX+. EX+/EX++
