Description
The blade is marked on the obverse ricasso with “G. Weyersberg Sne,” an abbreviation for Gottfried Weyersberg Söhne. The members of the Weyersberg family had been making blades in Solingen for generations and Gottfried’s maker mark is one of the rarest of those to be found. The blade has light graying and a few minor nicks to the cutting edge. The tip of the blade is slightly bent. The original blue pebbled leather buffer pad remains intact. The hilt fittings are intact and the orange grip has no chips and is complete with tighly wrapped silver spring wire. The scabbard has a dent on both the obverse and reverse side of the lower section. All retaining screws are intact.
