Description
This dagger has a marker mark of an acid etched star with “RBS” initials inside a star and “Rudolf Büchel Solingen-Merscheid” encircling the star. The blade has light gray speckling and light runner marks with no nicks to the cutting edge and the tip remains in a point. The leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel-based airplane grey plated scabbard has some speckling throughout with one small dent to the lower section of the reverse side in the oak leaves. The hanger bands and o-rings are intact and secure on the scabbard along with the 2 throat screws. The Luftwaffe eagle crossguard has beautiful details to the chest, wings and top side embossed oak leaves and acorns. The ferrule and pommel look great as well. The dark orange grip has its dual twisted brass wire wrap tightly intact, has no chips or cracks, and is two-toned with the reverse side being slightly lighter than the obverse side. A rare maker.
