Description
ROBT KLAAS SOLINGEN, beneath two small, stamped cranes TM. This pattern trademark is illustrated on page 244 of The Sword and Knife Makers of Germany 1850-2000 Volume 1 by the late Anthony Carter. The natural aluminum hilt fittings retain much of the factory darkening on the pommel with pebbled background to the oak leaf motif and crossguard with relief-style oak leaves featuring right leaf over left motif on the upper quillon surfaces and courser pebbled panel on the reverse crossguard. Dark orange, solid celluloid grip with tight wire wrap shows light surface wear with no chips or surface damage. Plated blade grades EX++ showing light surface wear/runner marks and some light speckling, but no pitting or nicks to cutting edges, tip remains in a point and is complete with black leather buffer pad. Dent-free scabbard shows wear and surface graying to the factory finish on the pebbled shell. Oak leaf suspension bands and 2 scabbard throat screws are in place.
