F. W. HOLLER, SOLINGEN with thermometer in double oval TM. Gilded brass hilt fittings show light wear with toned finish to pommel and crossguard featuring the extended Holler style “buttons” on the ends of the quillons. White celluloid grip shows light wear with no cracks or chips. Plated, double-etched blade grades near MINT showing light surface wear/runner marks only. Deeply etched, fouled anchor and sailing ship motif, as it appears in the 1941 Holler catalog, retains 98% of its light gray background frosting and is complete with red blade buffer pad. Dent-free, lightning bolt brass scabbard shows surface wear and toning with one minor depression to obverse lower half. Oak leaf scabbard bands feature straight borders which are characteristic of Holler production scabbards. Dagger is complete with silver bullion portepee tied in the correct “reef” knot showing much fraying and wear. EX+/EX++ (29050) SOLD
